What is 8-Bit MMO?

8-Bit MMO is a free, open source massively multiplayer online role-playing game with a retro 2D pixel art aesthetic. Inspired by classic RPGs, it allows players to adventure together in a persistent online world completed with quests, enemies to battle, resources to gather, and a virtual economy shaped by the players themselves.

When creating a character, you can customize your avatar's appearance with various hairstyles, outfits, and accessories found while adventuring. As you explore the vast, interconnected areas, you'll meet other players, battle monsters, harvest materials, and acquire gear and items to grow stronger.

There is a wide range of combat and magic abilities you can use against the fantasy-themed enemies. Defeating foes and finishing quests awards you with coins and loot which can be used, sold or traded. An in-game marketplace also exists where players can set up their own shops.

As an open source project that anyone can contribute to, 8-Bit MMO is constantly evolving with new content and features. Its retro graphics and gameplay make for lighthearted entertainment, whether playing solo or cooperatively with friends.
