alt.binz is a versatile, open-source archive manager software for Windows, Linux, and macOS. It provides an easy way to handle many popular archive formats including ZIP, 7z, RAR, TAR, ISO, CAB, ARJ, LZH, CHM, MSI, NSIS, WIM, and more.
As an alternative to proprietary software like WinZip and WinRAR, alt.binz offers an intuitive user interface that allows anyone to quickly create, open, explore, add/remove files, encrypt and decrypt, and modify archives. It supports AES-256 and ZipCrypto encryption, splitting of large archives, self-extracting EXE archives, and more advanced features.
Despite its power and flexibility, alt.binz retains a small footprint thanks to its lightweight and efficient C/C++ codebase. It uses very little memory and CPU resources compared to some commercial managers. Additional plug-ins and skins allow further customization and new capabilities.
