Armikrog is a claymation-style point-and-click adventure game developed and published by Pencil Test Studios in 2015. It is a spiritual successor to the 1990s claymation adventure games The Neverhood and Skullmonkeys.
The player takes control of protagonist Tommynaut, the guardian of a large fortress prison planet called Armikrog. When the prison is invaded by an alien armada called the Ix, Tommynaut ventures out in his space pod to try to find help, only to crash land back on Armikrog. His goal becomes rescuing his dog Beak-Beak, who was kidnapped by the Ix.
Gameplay involves solving environmental puzzles and exploring the claymation world. Puzzles require logic, lateral thinking, and combining items. There is very little dialog and story is conveyed through visuals and puzzles rather than text. The graphics use stop-motion claymation for a unique aesthetic.
Reviews praised Armikrog's visual style and novelty but felt the gameplay and puzzles were lacking. The game was considered very difficult and obtuse, with unclear objectives. It received mixed reviews, averaging a 62/100 score on Metacritic.
