What is Astroneer?

Astroneer is a sandbox adventure game set during the 25th century's Intergalactic Age of Discovery. As an Astroneer, you explore the frontiers of outer space, discovering rare exotic planets that have their own rules of gravity, chemistry, weather, etc. The planets are procedurally generated with terrain that can be reshaped and harvested for valuable resources and crafting materials to build bases, vehicles, tools and more.

Gameplay is centered around survival, crafting, base-building, vehicle construction, and exploration. You start off with just a spacesuit and backpack, mining for resources by hand to survive hazardous environments filled with storms, cave ins, hostile plants and more. As you progress, you can build platforms, shelters, large rovers and shuttles to explore further, shaping the land and uncovering ancient alien secrets buried on each strange world.

Key features include procedurally generated planets, deformable terrain, a next-gen resource economy centered around compounds and chemistry, vehicle construction, multiplayer bases, customization, and mysterious artifacts and discoveries that reveal more about the history and nature of the Astroneer universe.
