What is AVG Threat Labs?

AVG Threat Labs is a cybersecurity software suite developed and maintained by Avast Software. Originally founded in 1991 as GRISOFT in the Czech Republic, the company was renamed AVG Technologies in 2006 after acquiring German antivirus company Anti-Virus Guard. In 2016, AVG was acquired by Avast Software.

AVG offers a range of security and privacy software products for Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS devices. Its core product offerings include AVG AntiVirus for real-time protection against malware, AVG TuneUp for device optimization and performance improvements, and AVG PrivacyFix for identifying and resolving privacy concerns across devices and online accounts.

The company's security experts within the AVG Threat Labs also produce cybersecurity research reports, insights, and breaking news updates that help further public understanding of the evolving threat landscape.
