Mar 15, 2026Reliable and Easy to Use Archiver
I've been using Bandizip for years now and it's become my go-to for all my archiving needs. It's incredibly fast and supports all the major archive types I need - ZIP, RAR, 7z, you name it. I especially appreciate how it integrates with Windows Explorer, making it super easy to zip or unzip files with just a right-click. The interface is clean, and it's never given me any trouble with corrupt archives, which is a common problem I've had with other archivers. The modern UI theme is a nice touch, too. I switched from both 7-Zip and WinRAR to this, and haven't looked back. The fact that the basic version is free without any ads or nag-screens makes this a genuinely great value for anyone.

Mar 15, 2026Good but has some quirks that hold it back
Bandizip is great for basic compression tasks. It's lightweight, free, and supports all the major formats I need, like ZIP and RAR. However, I've run into occasional extraction errors with password-protected archives that other tools handle fine, and the constant 'Pro Version' upgrade prompts, while fair, are starting to feel a bit naggy.

Mar 14, 2026Lightweight and Reliable - My Go-To Archiver
Bandizip has become my default archiver after trying several alternatives. It's incredibly fast at both compression and extraction, especially with ZIP and 7z formats, and the context menu integration makes it effortless to use daily. The clean interface with optional dark mode is a nice touch, and for a free tool, the encryption and format support are excellent.

Mar 14, 2026Frustrating to use, especially the ads and bundled software
I gave Bandizip a try expecting a simple, free file archiver, but the experience has been disappointing. The constant banner ads within the program are intrusive and distracting. Even worse, during the installation, I had to be extremely careful to opt out of bundling some third-party software, which felt like navigating a minefield. It just doesn't feel trustworthy or lightweight anymore, despite its high compression claims.

Mar 13, 2026Lightweight, efficient, and just works
I switched to Bandizip after years of using other bloated archivers, and I'm glad I did. It handles every format I throw at itβZIP, RAR, 7zβwithout fuss, and the Windows Explorer integration is seamless. The interface is clean and fast, and being completely free makes it an unbeatable value.

Mar 13, 2026Uninstalled after frustrating adware experience
Started using Bandizip because it was free and lightweight, but the constant pop-up ads to upgrade to the paid version became unbearable. The integration with Windows Explorer caused noticeable system slowdowns when working with large archives, and I experienced several corrupted zip files during extraction that other archivers handled fine. For a free tool, the intrusive monetization tactics and reliability issues make it not worth the trouble.

Mar 09, 2026Frustrating experience with this archiver
I wanted a simple, free archiver but Bandizip has been surprisingly disappointing. The interface feels cluttered with unnecessary options, and I've had several corrupted ZIP files when trying to extract large archives. It also occasionally hangs when processing multiple files, which defeats the purpose of a 'lightweight' tool.
