Deemo: Rhythm Video Game

Discover Deemo, a rhythm video game with over 100 songs, featuring classical to pop music, a mysterious story and artistic visual style, developed by Rayark Games.

What is Deemo?

Deemo is a rhythm/music video game developed and published by Rayark Games. First released in 2013, it is available on iOS, Android, PlayStation Vita, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 4.

In Deemo, players tap on musical notes as they slide down from the top of the screen in sync with background music. The aim is to tap the notes when the bottom of each one reaches the bottom marking on the screen. There are simple note types as well as hold notes, swipe notes, and double notes that require more precision to hit correctly.

The game features a catalog of over 200 songs spanning different genres including classical, pop, rock, electronic, and more from both eastern and western artists. The music ranges from mellow and emotional piano pieces to energetic electronic dance tracks.

In addition to the rhythm gameplay, Deemo has somewhat of a mysterious story conveyed through animated comic scenes between stages. The player takes on the role of a silent character who finds himself in a mysterious castle. Gameplay progresses the story and new areas of the castle open up as more songs are completed.

Deemo is presented through simple yet artistic monochrome visuals, giving it a novel storybook aesthetic. Its gameplay combined with an immersive musical score and hints of narrative have garnered Deemo praise as an unique and emotional rhythm game.
