What is Ear Teacher?

Ear Teacher is an interactive ear training application designed to help musicians develop and improve their musical listening abilities. It includes features and exercises focused on interval recognition, chord recognition, and rhythm training.

The interval recognition exercises train the user to be able to hear and identify musical intervals like major 3rds, perfect 5ths, and minor 7ths. There are both ascending and descending interval exercises. As you progress, the intervals get more difficult to distinguish.

The chord recognition exercises help you learn to hear and identify major, minor, augmented, and diminished chords. It trains your ear to pick out chord qualities and extensions. There is a large library of chord types to practice.

For rhythm training, Ear Teacher has exercises to help you internalize common rhythmic figures and time signatures. You learn to identify quarter notes, triplets, syncopation, and more. This improves rhythm sense and timing.

There are progressively more difficult levels of exercises to continue challenging and developing your ears as you advance. Ear Teacher tracks your progress and performance to know when to introduce more difficult intervals, chords, and rhythms.
