A free, open-source software for exploring known exoplanets in a 3D interactive environment, displaying various details and statistics about discovered exoplanets.
Exo planets Explorer 3D is an open-source, interactive 3D visualization software focused on known exoplanets discovered so far. It allows users to explore and compare the many strange new worlds that exist beyond our solar system.
In an easy-to-use interface, Exo planets Explorer 3D renders exoplanets to scale alongside their host stars, accurately modeling sizes, orbits, atmospheres, temperatures and more based on the latest scientific data from NASA, ESA and peer-reviewed journals. Users can pan, zoom and rotate to view these alien planets from any angle.
Detailed planetary statistics are provided for each exoplanet, including mass, radius, density, temperature, orbital period and distance from its parent star. The software also generates basic habitability assessments to indicate which worlds may be more favorable for life as we know it.
Exo planets Explorer 3D aims to make the wonders of exoplanet discovery interactive and immersive for students, educators, science communicators and amateur astronomers. Its open-source codebase also enables developers to expand functionality or integrate real-time exoplanet data feeds in the future.
