Mar 17, 2026A solid RSS reader with some rough edges
Fluent Reader is genuinely excellent for reading RSS feeds in a clean, distraction-free environment. I love the customizable themes and keyboard shortcuts, which make my daily news browsing smooth and efficient. However, the initial setup feels a bit clunky, especially when importing feeds, and I've experienced occasional sync issues with my Pocket integration. For an open-source tool, it offers great value, but it's not without its quirks.

Mar 16, 2026A Clean and Capable Feed Reader, But Not Without Its Annoyances
Fluent Reader is a great open-source option with a gorgeous, minimalist interface that makes reading feeds a pleasure. The one-click subscriptions and Pocket integration are fantastic. However, a recent update has made the Windows app crash on my machine every time I try to import my OPML file, which is a showstopper for switching from my old reader. It feels fast and looks amazing, but needs more stability and maybe a more intuitive feed organization system.

Mar 13, 2026A powerful reader with a steep initial climb
Fluent Reader is incredibly powerful and its clean, minimalist reading interface is excellent once you get it set up. However, the initial experience of adding and organizing RSS feeds feels clunky and non-intuitive compared to some web-based alternatives. I love the offline support and Pocket integration, but I wish the setup process and feed discovery were smoother.

Mar 12, 2026Promising but Frustratingly Buggy
I wanted to love Fluent Reader for its clean interface and open-source promise, but constant syncing issues with my feeds have made it unreliable. The keyboard shortcuts are great when they work, but I've lost my article progress multiple times after the app crashed. For a tool meant to simplify reading, it's added more frustration than convenience.

Mar 12, 2026Finally, an RSS reader that gets out of my way
Fluent Reader has completely revived my RSS reading habit. The clean, distraction-free interface makes it a pleasure to catch up on my feeds, and the offline support means I can read on my commute without worrying about connectivity. As an open-source project, it's remarkably polished and stable. The fact that it's completely free feels almost too good to be true.

Mar 11, 2026Powerful but has a learning curve
Fluent Reader's clean interface and excellent offline support are fantastic for focused reading, and being open-source is a huge plus. However, the initial setup for adding feeds and syncing with Pocket feels less intuitive compared to some other readers. It's very reliable once configured, but I wish the process was more streamlined for newcomers.

Mar 09, 2026A Sleek, Open-Source Powerhouse for RSS Power Users
Fluent Reader has completely streamlined my daily news and blog reading. I can finally consolidate all my RSS feeds, newsletters, and read-it-later items in one gorgeous, lightning-fast app. I love that it syncs flawlessly across my PC and phone, and the article view is incredibly clean and focused. The developer is impressively responsive on GitHub, and the fact that it's open-source and ad-free is the cherry on top.

Mar 08, 2026Beautiful but Buggy RSS Reader
While the interface is clean and the offline reading concept is great, Fluent Reader constantly crashes when syncing large feed collections. The keyboard shortcuts often stop responding, forcing me to restart the app, and integration with Pocket has been unreliable for months. For an RSS reader, basic stability should be the priority, and right now it feels more like a beta than a finished product.
