I've tried using Google Wallet at multiple stores and restaurants, and about half the time, the payment simply fails for no clear reason. I end up fumbling with my phone while the cashier waits, then have to pull out my physical card anyway. The basic idea is good, but the execution feels unreliable compared to other mobile wallets I've tried.
While the convenience of digital payments is great in theory, Google Wallet has been unreliable for me. Multiple times at checkout, it simply won't read at supported terminals, forcing me to scramble for my physical card. It also seems hit-or-miss which of my loyalty cards are compatible, making the 'all-in-one' promise feel hollow.
Google Wallet is super handy for quick payments, and I love leaving my physical wallet at home. But it's not perfectβsometimes it fails at the terminal, it can be a bit flaky with loyalty cards, and it requires a surprisingly good internet connection to verify cards. When it works, it's great, but the inconsistency is a real drawback.
Google Wallet really simplifies my day by letting me leave my physical cards at home. I appreciate having my loyalty and gift cards in one place, making checkout faster. However, I've had a few instances where it didn't work reliably at some older payment terminals, which can be frustrating when you're counting on it. The setup was easy, but the experience feels a bit inconsistent.
