While I appreciate GUITAA being open-source and free, the software feels unfinished and frustrating to use. The MIDI playback is often out of sync with the tablature during playback, and the interface frequently crashes on my Windows machine. For a basic tab editor, it's too unreliable to depend on for any serious work.

As a guitarist who writes tabs for my band, GUITAA's open-source nature and cross-platform support are fantasticβ€”I can work on my Linux laptop and my friend can pick it up on his Mac. The core features like tab creation, MIDI playback, and the ability to sync tabs to an audio file work well for basic tasks. However, the interface feels clunky and dated, some basic editing actions are unintuitive, and I've encountered several crashes that lost my work, which is incredibly frustrating for a program centered around creation. For a free tool it gets the job done, but the lack of polish makes it hard to recommend for serious or frequent use.
