Metapedia: Online Encyclopedia Focused on European Culture

Metapedia is an online wiki-based encyclopedia focused on European culture, history, science, art, and politics from a white nationalist and far-right perspective.

What is Metapedia?

Metapedia is an online wiki-based encyclopedia with openly far-right, white nationalist, and neo-Nazi perspectives. Launched in 2006 in Sweden, it describes itself as focusing on European culture, art, science, philosophy, and politics. However, Metapedia has faced strong criticism for promoting racism, antisemitism, Holocaust denial, and other forms of historical revisionism.

Many of the articles on Metapedia explicitly promote the viewpoint of scientific racism and present distorted portrayals of racial groups. There is a strong focus on topics related to Nazism, fascism, and other far-right ideologies. The encyclopedia also includes homophobic content and advocates for a traditionalist, anti-feminist worldview.

Unlike Wikipedia, Metapedia does not strive for a neutral point of view. Instead, it is upfront about its ideological bias and intention to present information aligned with far-right politics. The accuracy and reliability of content is therefore questionable at best. Overall, Metapedia resembles propaganda more than a balanced encyclopedia and should be approached cautiously in that context.
