While the interface is clean, Nextgen Reader constantly crashes when syncing my feeds, losing my read/unread status in the process. The search function is unreliable, often failing to find articles I know are in my subscriptions. For an RSS reader in 2023, the lack of basic keyboard shortcuts and inconsistent performance makes it frustrating to use daily.
Nextgen Reader does its main job well, letting me sync and read my feeds in a clean interface with nice themes. However, I've had a few frustrating bugs where it randomly fails to update some subscriptions, and the sharing options feel a bit limited compared to some competitors. It's definitely usable and the price is right, but I hope they smooth out the rough edges.
For a supposed modern RSS reader, Nextgen Reader feels surprisingly unstable on Windows. Feeds often fail to sync properly, leading to missed updates, and the app has crashed several times while simply scrolling. The interface is clean, but the frequent performance issues make it too unreliable for daily use.
