Mar 30, 2026Style Over Substance
I was excited about an anime-themed distro, but Otakux is just a poorly executed Lubuntu skin. The anime artwork is nice, but the system was buggy; the theme broke on several applications, and the pre-installed media apps were outdated and crashed often. It feels like a hobby project that wasn't ready for daily use. For a 'light' distro, it felt surprisingly sluggish on my older hardware compared to plain Lubuntu.

Mar 29, 2026Anime flair, but inconsistent as a daily driver
The anime themes and pre-loaded manga reader are a real treat for fans, making setup fun and personal. However, I've run into random freezes, and some everyday apps are harder to install compared to mainstream distros. It's a charming niche OS that unfortunately feels a bit unpolished for regular use.

Mar 24, 2026Cute theme, but not ready for real use
Installed Otakux because I liked the anime aesthetic, but quickly ran into major issues. The system felt unstable with random freezes, and many of the pre-installed anime-related applications were outdated or broken. It's more of a niche novelty than a functional daily driver, which was disappointing since I was hoping to replace my main OS.
