What is Simplesynth?

Simplesynth is an open-source, cross-platform software synthesizer for Windows, Mac, and Linux. It provides an intuitive and customizable interface for creating, editing, and manipulating synthesizer sounds and instruments.

At its core, Simplesynth features a range of high-quality oscillators that can generate and shape sounds using analog-modeled waveforms like sawtooth, pulse, triangle, and sine waves. It also includes versatile filter options like low-pass, high-pass, band-pass, vocal, and more to sculpt the harmonic content of sounds.

An easy-to-use modular drag-and-drop routing system allows for putting together complex synthesizer architectures involving oscillators, filters, amplifiers and effect modules. Envelopes and LFOs can be used to modulate sound parameters over time. Effects like chorus, reverb, distortion and delay allow for further polishing of sounds.

While powerful under the hood, Simplesynth focuses on providing an intuitive, minimalist user interface. This makes sound design and experimentation fun and easy for beginners and experienced producers alike.
