What is Speed Dreams?
Speed Dreams is an open source, cross-platform car racing simulation game. Originally a fork of the open source racing game TORCS, Speed Dreams aims to implement exciting new features and graphics to transform the simulator into a realistic, modern 3D motor racing game.
Speed Dreams comes packed with content out of the box, including a variety of tracks like dirt tracks, ovals, fictional tracks, and real world racing circuits spanning decades of racing history. There are also over 30 different vehicles to choose from such as modern F1 cars, historic F1 cars from the 70s, 80s and 90s, IndyCars, rally cars, and more. The game features realistic physics to provide an authentic racing experience.
As an open source game, Speed Dreams welcomes contributions from developers around the world. New graphics, vehicles, and tracks are frequently added to the game by the active community. Multiplayer allows racing against other players online. The game also supports race weekends with practice, qualifying, and finals. Overall, Speed Dreams aims to be a modern, realistic racing simulation to rival both open source and commercial racing games.
