Tabletop Audio is a web-based virtual tabletop software for tabletop roleplaying games. It provides atmospheric background audio and an infinite grid map for digital tabletop gaming.
Tabletop Audio is a free, web-based virtual tabletop application designed specifically for tabletop roleplaying games like Dungeons & Dragons. It provides two main features - immersive, loopable background audio tracks to set the atmosphere during gameplay, and an infinite grid map to represent locations and terrain.
The atmospheric audio tracks are categorized into over two dozen ambient themes like Forests, Battle Music, Steampunk Factory, Haunted Dungeon, Medieval Tavern and more. GMs can mix and match tracks to create unique atmospheres for their games. The audio loops seamlessly and can be adjusted for volume.
The infinite grid map starts with a 70px grid, but is zoomed and panned dynamically to represent everything from regional overland maps to detailed dungeon rooms. Simple tools allow adding tokens and drawings to the map. The whole tabletop can also be hidden to reveal only the background audio for theater of the mind-style play.
As a web application, Tabletop Audio provides platform-independent access for all players via any internet-connected device and browser. As it requires no registration, it’s easy to use for one-shot games with new groups. All progress is saved to the GM’s browser so games can resume easily where they left off.
