A free, interactive learning tool by Meta VR to teach people how artificial intelligence systems work, with computer vision, physics, and AI models in a virtual environment.
The Lab is a free collection of virtual reality experiences created by Valve Corporation. It serves both as an introduction to room-scale VR for people who have just purchased their first headset, while also representing a full-fledged Source 2 game for established VR customers.
The Lab offers a variety of gameplay experiences, including the repair of a robotic dog Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device, a video game within The Lab itself dubbed Human Diversity Outreach Program, and the bullet time simulation Longbow. Each experience lasts between 3 to 15 minutes and can be returned to at any time. While fun in their own right, these gameplay experiences also serve as interactive demonstrations for many of the feats of spatial computing made possible by SteamVR tracking and the HTC Vive controllers.
The Lab Renderer showcases Valve’s advances in photoreal rendering by using common VR techniques to put the user inside a series of static scenes. The photogrammetry scanning process uses thousands of images to capture details of real-world places and things to recreate them as accurately as possible. Each scene also hides interactive elements and secrets for users to discover.
