Unpuzzle is a suite of software applications designed to help people with autism and other special needs. The applications aim to improve communication, social interactions, organization, and daily life skills.

What is Unpuzzle (Series)?

Unpuzzle is a series of applications created by Think Social Publishing, Inc. to assist individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other special needs in improving various aspects of their lives.

There are currently three applications in the Unpuzzle series:

• Unpuzzle Me helps users practice social interactions and communications through interactive stories and videos. It covers topics like making eye contact, reading facial expressions, and having conversations.
• Unpuzzle You focuses on organization, planning, and time management. It includes visual schedules, timers, checklists, and calendars to help structure daily activities.
• Unpuzzle Life teaches essential life skills like doing laundry, making purchases, and preparing food safely. The app uses videos, audio cues, pictures, and clear instructions.

A defining characteristic of the Unpuzzle series is the use of evidence-based techniques for their target user group, presented through accessible and engaging interfaces. Some specific methods utilized include video modeling, visual supports, behavioral reinforcement, and customizable difficulty levels to suit each individual's needs and abilities.

While designed as assistive tools for the special needs community, Unpuzzle apps can also serve as good introductory training resources for neurotypical children and caregivers seeking to learn about ASD support strategies.
