Great editor, but extensions can be a headache
The core editing experience is fantastic and exactly what I expect from the VS Code codebase, free of any Microsoft telemetry. However, I've run into several issues where extensions from the marketplace either fail to install or have compatibility problems, which is frustrating when you're trying to set up a specific workflow. It's a solid, privacy-focused choice, but be prepared for some extra tinkering.
