Apr 07, 2026Effortless Scalability for Our Growing App
As a developer managing a mid-sized e-commerce platform, EC2 has been a game-changer. We can quickly spin up instances during traffic spikes and shut them down when not needed, paying only for what we use. The ability to choose instance types and scale both vertically and horizontally has been crucial for our growth. The learning curve for IAM and networking can be steep, but the control and flexibility are worth it. We've achieved near 100% uptime and scaled from a few hundred to tens of thousands of users without a major overhaul, all thanks to the flexible compute power EC2 provides.

Apr 05, 2026Powerful but Complex, Could Be More User-Friendly
The raw compute power and scalability of EC2 are truly impressive - our applications run reliably and we can scale up resources in minutes. However, the learning curve is steep for beginners, and the pricing structure feels unnecessarily complicated with all the different instance types and spot pricing options. It gets the job done well, but I wish Amazon would invest more in simplifying the initial setup and billing transparency.

Apr 03, 2026Powerful but complex, not for the faint of heart
Amazon EC2's scalability is a lifesaver for our growing startup, easily handling traffic spikes. However, the sheer number of configuration options, instance types, and pricing models like On-Demand vs. Savings Plans can be a dizzying maze. If you have deep cloud and AWS knowledge, it's an incredibly powerful tool. But the learning curve is steep for new users, and the cost can be unpredictable if you don't manage it carefully. The performance and reliability are top-notch, but the complexity and potential for runaway costs keep me from giving it a 5-star experience.

Apr 03, 2026Powerful but Overwhelming - Not for the Faint of Heart
While EC2 offers incredible scalability and raw compute power, the learning curve is brutal for newcomers. The web console feels cluttered and confusing, and even simple tasks like configuring security groups become frustratingly complex. For small teams without dedicated DevOps expertise, the sheer number of options and pricing models makes it easy to make costly mistakes or leave resources running unnecessarily.
