Mar 26, 2026Stuck with the past, not the future
I've used Bandizip for years, but this 'X' version feels like a downgrade. The new install process is clunky, and it keeps defaulting to its own 'BZ' format, which is useless for sharing with others. The ads in the free version have gotten more intrusive, constantly pushing the paid upgrade. It's fast, but the overall experience is now frustrating.

Mar 26, 2026Handy and Fast, But the Ads Can Get in the Way
Bandizip X is a fantastic, lightweight archiver that's become my go-to for daily use; it's fast, supports all the major formats I need, and the context menu integration is flawless. However, the constant, insistent pop-up ads for the Pro version, which appear right when you click 'extract', are a real pain. The software itself is great, so the aggressive upsell on the free version is a real downside that cheapens the experience.

Mar 26, 2026Powerful and fast, but not perfect
Bandizip X is super fast for opening RAR and ZIP files, and I love the clean, modern interface. It handles everything I throw at it without a hitch. However, the nag screen to buy the Pro version is really annoying and feels a bit intrusive for 'free' software. It's a great tool, but the constant upsell reminders are a significant annoyance.

Mar 25, 2026Gets the job done, but a bit clunky
Bandizip X is a solid, no-frills choice for quickly compressing and extracting archives, and it's hard to argue with the price. However, the interface feels dated compared to modern competitors, and the update process is a bit clunky, pestering you with a separate pop-up rather than updating seamlessly. It's perfectly fine for simple tasks, but it lacks the polish and advanced features of some paid or even free alternatives.

Mar 23, 2026Frustrating Experience with Clunky Interface and Hidden Limitations
While Bandizip X is free and handles basic extraction, I found the interface cluttered and unintuitive compared to alternatives like 7-Zip. It also unexpectedly prompted me to upgrade to a paid version for some advanced features that weren't clearly marked as premium, which felt misleading. For a lightweight archiver, it sometimes slowed down with larger archives, defeating its purpose.

Mar 22, 2026Disappointing and Unreliable
I switched to Bandizip X because it was free, but it has been consistently crashing on Windows 11 when handling large RAR files. The interface is simple, but the random errors during extraction make it frustrating to rely on. For a basic file archiver, it lacks the stability I expected.
