BetterWorldBooks is an online used bookstore based in Mishawaka, Indiana that allows customers to buy and sell print books. It was founded in 2002 with the dual goals of promoting literacy around the world while also reducing the number of books that get thrown away. For every book sold, BetterWorldBooks donates a percentage of the profits to its partner literacy charities that support reading and educational programs.

This includes both new and used fiction such as mystery/thrillers, romance, sci-fi/fantasy, classics and more. It also offers many used textbooks and reference books at discounted prices. Other categories include biographies, history, cooking/food & wine, politics/social sciences, motivation, health/fitness and children's books including picture, early readers, chapter books and young adult.
As an eco-friendly green business, BetterWorldBooks collects and resells unwanted books that would otherwise be discarded and end up in landfills. It offers customers and more than 2,200 book donation partners across North America a way to recycle books. To date, BetterWorldBooks has raised over $32 million for literacy and education nonprofits worldwide and saved over 156 million books from landfills.
