A highly accurate Nintendo 64 emulator prioritizing speed, reliability, and community involvement.
What is CEN64?
CEN64 is an open source Nintendo 64 emulator that aims to be highly accurate while also focusing on performance, compatibility, sustainability, and maintainability. It was developed as an alternative to existing N64 emulators to handle newer games and hardware features better.
The emulator focuses on cycle-accuracy to correctly emulate all of the internals and behaviors of real Nintendo 64 hardware to ensure games play properly. At the same time, it uses dynamic recompilation and other optimizations for high performance. CEN64 also aims for excellent game compatibility and to support more games and peripherals over time.
The emulator emphasizes solid programming practices, extensive internal documentation, and a maintainable and extensible codebase to promote sustainability of the project for the long-term. The developers aim to offer an N64 emulation solution with high code quality, accuracy, and reliability to serve the emulation community.
