What is Clash Royale?

Clash Royale is a freemium mobile strategy video game developed and published by Supercell. The game combines elements from collectible card games, tower defense, and multiplayer online battle arena games. Clash Royale was released globally on March 2, 2016.

In Clash Royale, players collect and upgrade characters called cards to form their battle deck. There are different types of cards with varying abilities and statistics. The main objective is to destroy the opponent's towers while defending your own. Players battle online in real-time through one vs one or two vs two matches.

Matches take place on arena-style levels. During a match, players must strategically deploy their cards on the battlefield to attack the enemy towers and troops. Managing elixir, the in-game resource needed to deploy cards, is crucial for victory. Players advance through increasing competitive arenas as they gain trophies from wins, unlocking new cards and other rewards.

Clash Royale features familiar characters from the popular strategy video game, Clash of Clans. While it shares some canonical elements, Clash Royale has very different gameplay, focusing on head-to-head online battles rather than base-building and resource management.
