What is Kingdom Rush?
Kingdom Rush is a tower defense video game developed by Ironhide Game Studio and released in 2011. It's the first game in the Kingdom Rush series and has been a huge hit, with over 120 million downloads across various platforms including iOS, Android, Steam, Nintendo Switch, and web browser.
In Kingdom Rush, the player builds towers along a winding path to defend their territory against waves of enemies, including orcs, goblins, ogres, demons, zombies, and more. There are four types of towers with unique abilities - artillery towers, archer towers, barracks, and magic towers. Players earn gold from defeating enemies, allowing them to build more towers, upgrade existing ones, and call in reinforcements like artillery strikes and heavenly warriors.
The graphics have a vibrant, cartoon style that appeals to all ages. The audio is excellent as well, with comical voice lines for the enemies and towers bringing everything to life with personality. Over time, the waves get tougher with more enemies, but players are rewarded with more gold to grow stronger in response.
In addition to the campaign mode, there is also hero mode where players command heroes with spells and special abilities, as well as iron and heroic challenge modes for hardcore players seeking a real tower defense test. With fun, addictive gameplay, quirky humor, and endless replay value, it's no wonder Kingdom Rush remains one of the most popular tower defense games years after its initial release.
Bloons TD (Series), Clash of Clans, Plants vs. Zombies (Series), Fieldrunners (Series), Pokemon Tower Defense, Clash Royale, TowerMadness, Tower Duel, Military Tower Defense, HexDefense, Robo Defense, EazeGames, Gemcraft Zero, Defense Zone, Iron Marines, Tiny Guardians, Realm Defense are some alternatives to Kingdom Rush.
