What is Cradle of Egypt?

Cradle of Egypt is a city-building and strategy game developed and published by BlueByte Software. The game is set in ancient Egypt during the time of the Old Kingdom, New Kingdom and Late Period.

Players take on the role of an Egyptian pharaoh tasked with building settlements along the fertile banks of the Nile River. Gameplay involves strategically managing resources like papyrus, gems, granite and gold to support a growing population and construct monumental architecture.

Core gameplay revolves around balancing housing, food production, taxation, trade routes and military strength. As the settlement grows, players can build iconic Egyptian monuments like the Great Pyramids and Great Sphinx, as well as temples, obelisks and burial tombs.

The game features campaign modes that progress through different dynasties as well as sandbox and random map modes for open-ended city building gameplay. Multiplayer allows players to compete or work together to build the greatest Egyptian kingdoms.
