What is Craft The World?

Craft The World is a sandbox strategy video game developed by Russian studio Dekovir and originally released on PC in 2013. It was later ported to Mac and Linux as well. The game allows players to control a group of dwarves who explore, gather resources, craft tools and weapons, and build fortresses in order to survive monster attacks.

Gameplay consists of elements of city-builder, strategy, and survival games. Players start with just one dwarf and must guide them to explore a randomly generated world map, gather resources like wood, stone, ores, plants, and food, and build workshops to craft better tools, weapons, furniture, decorations, and fortifications. The dwarves must also build farms, kitchens, and sleeping quarters.

At night and during attacks, the dwarves must return to the safety of their fortress. As the game progresses, the dwarves craft stronger weapons and the player unlocks more advanced buildings including enchanters, demon portals, and combat golems to defend against tougher monsters. An eventual goal is to build a portal to escape the planet.

Craft The World features voxel-style graphics that look similar to games like Terraria and Starbound. Reviews praise its fun mix of exploration, resource gathering, crafting, and combat challenges. With numerous biomes to explore, a large tech tree of craftable items, and randomly generated worlds, it provides a lot of variety and replay value.
