What is Emesene?
Emesene is a free instant messaging client originally designed to connect to the Microsoft Network (MSN) Messenger service and communicate with other MSN users. It is written in Python and uses the command line interface library Twisted and the graphical interface library pyGTK.
Over time, Emesene has expanded support to also include other chat networks beyond just MSN. Some of the networks it supports includes Facebook Chat, Jabber/XMPP, Telegram, IRC, and more. This allows Emesene to serve as a unified messaging app to connect to multiple services.
