What is Galculator?

Galculator is a calculator application designed for the Linux desktop. It is released under the GNU General Public License and is free and open source software.

Galculator provides standard calculator functionality for performing basic arithmetic operations like addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. It also includes support for percentages, square roots, factorial, exponential notation, logarithms and trigonometric functions like sine, cosine and tangent.

In addition to standard modes, Galculator offers other useful features including a scientific mode, financial mode, programming mode, statistics mode and converter mode. The scientific mode provides access to more advanced mathematical functions. The financial mode offers financial calculations for interest rates, loans and mortgages. The programming mode allows entry of numbers in hexadecimal, octal and binary formats.

Galculator has a simple and straightforward graphical user interface that will be familiar to anyone who has used a desktop calculator before. It follows standard calculator conventions for entry of expressions and operations. Galculator allows copying the displayed result value to the clipboard for pasting into other applications.
