What is Gangstar (Series)?

The Gangstar video game series is an open world action-adventure franchise developed and published by Gameloft across various platforms. The first game in the series, Gangstar: West Coast Hustle, was released in 2009 for iOS, and later ported to Android and other platforms.

The games are set in fictional cities modeled after real-world locations like Miami, Rio de Janeiro, New Orleans, Las Vegas, and more recently, Hawaii. Players take on the role of a gangster or some other criminal whose objective is to climb the ranks of the fictional underworld hierarchy by completing missions, heists, stealing cars, and more.

Gameplay focuses heavily on the open world environment that encourages exploration and free-roaming. Players have access to melee weapons, various firearms, and vehicles that can be extensively customized. The series is known for its over-the-top portrayal of urban gangster life mixed with humor and action set pieces.
