Human Connection: Open Source Social Network for Meaningful Conversations

An open source social network focused on fostering understanding, community, and positive impact through meaningful conversations.

What is Human Connection?

Human Connection is an open source social networking platform launched in 2018 with the goal of enabling meaningful conversations and community building online. It was created with the belief that open, heartfelt communication can bring people together, spread awareness, and create positive change.

Some key features of Human Connection include:

  • Discussion groups organized by topic where users can post, comment, and debate constructively
  • A solidarity system that rewards community participation
  • Live streaming capabilities to host talks, lectures, conferences and more
  • User profiles and private messaging to connect on a personal level
  • Freedom of speech policies that allow all perspectives, while prohibiting harassment

The platform is built on values of understanding, self-reflection and compassion. It aims to counter polarized debate by encouraging users to post from the heart, listen deeply, and recognize shared hopes rather than just differences. The goal is to move from discussion to action by enabling collaboration on causes that matter to the community.

As an open source project, Human Connection is constantly evolving through the participation and creativity of its international developer community and network of volunteer ambassadors. The software is available for local teams around the world to build specialized local versions that cater to their country or language.
