• Communities - Separate communities existed for each game, with posts and discussions centered around that game.
• Handwritten Notes and Drawings - Using the Wii U GamePad, players could handwrite messages or draw pictures to share about their gaming experiences.
• Screenshot Sharing - Users could take and share screenshots from Wii U games.
• Profile Pages - Players could customize their profile and choose an avatar Mii character to represent themselves.
• Follows - Users could follow one another to see each other's posts.

Miiverse was designed to provide a fun, safe social space for Wii U owners to connect with one another about Nintendo games. It was shut down in 2017 as the Nintendo Switch console replaced the Wii U.
