What is MultiVersus?

MultiVersus is a free-to-play platform fighting video game developed by Player First Games and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. The game features crossover gameplay with many Warner Bros. franchises such as Looney Tunes, DC Comics, Hanna–Barbera, Cartoon Network, Adventure Time, Steven Universe, Scooby-Doo and more.

In MultiVersus, players battle against each other in 2 vs. 2 tag team matches with up to 4 players total. It features a roster of iconic fictional characters from Warner Bros. properties that players can select as their playable fighter, each with unique moves and abilities. The gameplay blends conventional 2D style fighting game combat with the addition of platform fighter gameplay elements that allow players to knock opponents off the stage to score ringouts. Environments and platforms are drawn from various Warner Bros. franchises as well, such as Batcave from DC comics.

There are multiple online multiplayer modes available such as ranked 1v1 matches, co-op 2v2, 4 player free-for-all, and more. There is cross-platform play across all platforms so large player pools are available. MultiVersus hosts dedicated servers for low latency. The game has seasonal content releases planned with new characters, maps, cosmetics, and more. While free-to-play, optional in-game purchases with real money are available for cosmetics.
