What is Brawlhalla?

Brawlhalla is a 2D platform fighter brawler video game developed by Blue Mammoth Games. It was released for Microsoft Windows in October 2017, for Nintendo Switch in November 2018, for Xbox One in November 2019, and iOS and Android in August 2020.

In Brawlhalla, up to eight players battle it out in various game modes, including ranked 1v1, free-for-all, teams, and more. There are over 50 unique characters to choose from, each with their own weapons and abilities.

The core gameplay is very similar to Super Smash Bros. - the goal is to knock opponents off the stage to score points and be the last player standing. Matches take place on 2D stages with platforms and hazards.

Key features of Brawlhalla include:

  • Free-to-play model with optional purchasable cosmetics
  • Cross-platform online play across PC, consoles, and mobile
  • Variety of ranked and casual game modes
  • Weekly rotation of playable characters available for free
  • Esports scene with official tournaments and prize money

With its simple yet deep mechanics, fun and cartoony art style, and strong post-launch support from the developers, Brawlhalla has cultivated a thriving player base and become one of the most popular platform fighter games since launching out of early access.
