What is NyxQuest?

NyxQuest: Kindred Spirits is a 2D action-adventure platform video game developed by the Spanish indie studio Over the Top Games and originally released in 2009. Inspired by classic Metroidvania games like Metroid and Castlevania, NyxQuest puts players in control of Nyx, a young fairy warrior who has lost her wings and sets out on a dangerous quest to restore them and save her home village.

With its vibrant pixel art visuals and expansive fantasy world to explore, NyxQuest harkens back to the 2D action platformers of the 8-bit and 16-bit eras. Gameplay is centered around navigating platforming challenges and fighting mythological creatures using Nyx's magical attacks and abilities. As players progress, they will unlock new powers like fireballs and lightning bolts, gain strength, and discover secrets tucked away in the game's forests, caves, castles, and clouds.
