What is Ori and the Blind Forest?
Ori and the Blind Forest is an action-adventure metroidvania video game developed by Moon Studios and published by Microsoft Studios. It was released in March 2015 for Microsoft Windows and Xbox One.
In the game, players assume control of Ori, a small white guardian spirit. Ori was orphaned from the Spirit Tree during a powerful storm and raised by a family of forest creatures. After Naru, Ori's adoptive mother, falls from their nest during the storm, Ori is left alone in the forest. Ori then sets out to restore the forest's balance and revive the Spirit Tree, aided by Sein, an orb that serves as Ori's guide, newfound abilities, and a skill tree system that gives players freedom to customize Ori's powers.
The beautifully hand-painted game combines abilities and difficulty progression as players explore the interconnected forest world. It features a deeply emotional story driven by charming characters, exciting escape sequences, more than 50 abilities to unlock and upgrade, multiple enemy types, epic boss fights, and intuitive movement mechanics to traverse the expansive environments.
