What is Geometry Dash?
Geometry Dash is a 2013 rhythm-based platforming game developed by Sweden-based developer Robert Topala. The game was initially released for iOS and Android mobile devices in August 2013. An early access PC/Mac version through Steam followed in December 2014 along with Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions in December 2017.
In Geometry Dash, players control an icon and navigate it through various obstacles by tapping or clicking to the beat of the background music. The goal is to reach the end of increasingly difficult levels featuring jumps, rocket flights, teleportation portals and more. Players can customize their icon and create their own levels to share online.
The full version of the game includes over 20 official levels as well as tens of millions of online user-created levels. Various game modes are available including the primary normal mode, a practice mode and user-created modes. Online level browsers and creators allow for practically unlimited replay value.
Geometry Dash has become extremely popular in the mobile and casual gaming scene due to its simple, addictive and challenging core gameplay loop centered around music and rhythm. The game's difficulty progresses from easy early on to tremendously hard in later levels, pushing players to retry dozens or hundreds of times to complete a stage.
