What is PolitiScale?

PolitiScale is a web application that allows users to input their opinions on major political issues and view a visualization of where they fall on the political spectrum. The app poses a series of statements across a range of topics such as the economy, social issues, immigration, and more. Users indicate whether they agree, disagree, or are neutral on each statement.

After completing all the questions, PolitiScale analyzes the responses and plots the user onto a political spectrum graph with a left wing and right wing. The position on the graph indicates the user's political leanings based on their opinions. If they fall near the left side of center, they likely align more with liberal or progressive ideals. Being on the right side indicates more conservative or libertarian views. The further to either side, the more extreme the user's views.

PolitiScale aims to help people understand their own political ideology by quantifying it on a spectrum. The visualization shows users how their views compare to political moderates as well as more extreme left/right wing positions. The app also allows users to re-take the quiz and see how their answers change over time. It serves as an interactive way to define and track one's own political perspectives.
