What is Space Gass?

Space Gass is a 2D space simulation, spaceship construction, and space combat game. Players start out with a basic spaceship and are free to explore a vast procedurally generated universe spanning numerous star systems. Worlds are populated with spaceships of varying allegiances that players can engage in combat with or choose to avoid.

A key feature of Space Gass is the block-by-block spaceship construction system. An expansive library of spacecraft blocks across various categories like hulls, wings, weapons, and more can be assembled to create unique spaceship designs. Larger ships have capacity for more components and crew members, but are slower and less maneuverable. Strategic ship building is required for different playstyles.

Trading goods between planets and space stations generates income to purchase better ship blocks and weapons. Space pirates may attempt to intercept and steal your cargo, requiring investment in defensive measures. Mining asteroids and discovering loot filled derelicts scattered through space also provide sources of money and resources.

An open-ended RPG-like progression system allows players to customize their spaceship captain's skills over time. Pour points into being a battle-hardened fighter ace, an entrepreneurial trader, or a jack of all trades. Specializing opens up advanced hull blocks and gear to take your spaceships to new heights.
