What is Stakkr?

Stakkr is an open-source personal knowledge management and note taking application developed by Stakkr Labs. It provides users with a flexible system to capture, organize, and retrieve information efficiently.

At the core of Stakkr is a card-based interface. Users can create stacks, which are like folders, to organize their content. Within each stack, they can have cards that contain notes, web clips, images, attachments like PDFs and Office documents, and more. Each card can be tagged and linked to other cards.

A key difference between Stakkr and traditional note apps is the focus on easy and speedy capture of information. The app allows users to quickly clip content from the web or type a short note and file it away into the relevant stack with the appropriate tags, making it easy to retrieve later when needed. Users can also set reminders on cards.

By facilitating easy capture and flexible organization with its card/stack system, Stakkr hopes to help knowledge workers and students grasp ideas more efficiently, generate better insights through connected thinking, and waste less time on busywork around managing information.
