What is Stampery?
Stampery is a web service that allows users to certify the existence of digital assets by storing cryptographic proofs on the Bitcoin blockchain. It leverages the security and decentralization of blockchain technology to timestamp documents, proving they existed at a certain point in time.
Here's how Stampery works: Users upload a digital file such as a document, video, or image to Stampery. The service then computes a cryptographic hash of the file - this hash serves as a unique identifier. Next, Stampery sends the hash to the Bitcoin network, where it gets embedded permanently into the blockchain.
Once the hash is on the blockchain, it serves as publicly-verifiable proof that the original digital file existed at that time. The timestamp certificate contains the file hash, linking it to a specific block on the blockchain. This allows anyone to independently verify when any data was stamped by Stampery.
