Tabletop Simulator: Digital Board Game Platform for Realistic Table Experience

Explore popular tabletop games like chess, poker, and Monopoly with realistic 3D graphics and physics, mirroring the real table experience.

What is Tabletop Simulator?

Tabletop Simulator is a video game that provides a physics sandbox environment for playing a wide variety of classic tabletop games. Developed and published by Berserk Games in 2015, Tabletop Simulator uses advanced physics mechanics to replicate the experience of gathering around a table playing games.

Players have access to a large library of already scripted games including popular titles like Chess, Checkers, Monopoly, Poker, Dominoes, Jenga and much more. The 3D environment and physics engine allow game pieces to move naturally on the virtual table with realistic collisions, stacking, rolling, flipping, and more.

In addition to premade games, Tabletop Simulator fosters a very active modding community. Players can script their own game rules and art assets to upload custom games to the Steam Workshop where they can easily be shared. This provides an avenue for indie game developers and enthusiasts to prototype ideas.

Some key features include:

  • Online multiplayer support to play games with remote friends
  • VR support for HTC Vive and Oculus Rift
  • Pixel-precise control to move any object with your mouse or controller
  • Customizable avatars so you can bring a unique character to the table
  • In-game text and voice chat to easily communicate during games
  • Supports DLC packs that add themed content like Skyrim Chess or Gloomhaven

With frequent updates still rolling out 6 years after initial launch, Tabletop Simulator aims to be the ultimate virtual board gaming platform providing endless replayability and flexibility through official DLC and community created content.
