Tribes was a short-lived science fiction television series that aired on Fox in the United States in 1990. The show takes place in the year 2044 after a devastating war between humans and cyborgs. It follows the adventures of Capt. Matthew Kane, played by Richard Grieco, as he tries to lead a special task force charged with keeping the peace between humans and cyborgs in the city of San Francisco.

The series depicted a dystopian future society attempting to recover in the aftermath of a global cybernetic war. Both humans and cyborgs, referred to as the Bionics, struggle to coexist despite extreme distrust and tensions on both sides. Kane's task force, known as the Chasers, play a precarious role as they are charged with tracking down violent cyborg separatists while also protecting innocent Bionics from human supremacy hate groups.

Tribes had elaborate special effects and production design depicting a retro-futuristic, cyberpunk-influenced vision of post-apocalyptic California. Despite a promising premise exploring relevant social issues, the series received low ratings during its initial run. It developed a cult following after its cancellation and one season, praised for its innovative aesthetics and layered storytelling ahead of its time.
