What is University of the People?

University of the People (UoPeople) is a nonprofit, tuition-free, accredited online university that offers access to higher education globally. It was founded in 2009 with the goal of providing affordable, quality education to students worldwide regardless of their financial, geographic or societal constraints.

UoPeople offers associate, bachelor's and master's degrees across various majors in business administration, computer science, health science and education. All programs are accredited and the university utilizes an open source platform and peer-to-peer learning model to keep costs low. There are no application, enrollment or assessment fees.

Students come from over 200 countries and territories and only pay a low examination processing fee each term. The self-paced programs allow students to study part-time while working. UoPeople has academic partnerships that allow graduates to transfer or advance to degree programs at internationally recognized universities.
