WeatherMetro: Free Open-Source Weather Application for Windows

WeatherMetro displays current weather info, 5-day forecasts & weather maps, with customizable interface featuring temperature, precipitation & more.

What is WeatherMetro?

WeatherMetro is a free, open-source weather application designed specifically for Windows. It provides detailed current weather conditions, 5-day forecasts, and interactive weather maps, all in a simple and easy-to-use interface.

When you first open WeatherMetro, it displays the current weather for your default location, showing the high/low temperature, a text summary of conditions, chance of precipitation, wind speed and direction, humidity, visibility distance, UV index, and more. You can easily customize exactly which details are shown.

The main interface is focused on clear, readable text and icons depicting weather conditions. But you also get graphical 5-day forecasts so you can quickly see how conditions are expected to change. An interactive map lets you pan/zoom around your area to analyze weather systems, view radar, see satellite cloud cover, and more. It even shows storm/hurricane tracks when applicable.

As an open-source program, WeatherMetro is completely free and has no ads or bloatware. It's lightweight yet still manages to pack in multiple weather data sources, a suite of tools, and customization options to display the details you care about most for your location.
