What is Alien Arena?

Alien Arena is a freeware first-person shooter video game originally released in 2004. It features a retro-futuristic visual style and gameplay that harkens back to popular 1990s shooters like Quake, Unreal Tournament, and Doom.

The game includes online multiplayer, single-player modes against bots, and extensive customization options. Players can choose from a variety of arenas and game modes like classic deathmatch and capture the flag, and extensively modify aspects of gameplay like player movement speed, jump height, weapon options, and more.

Alien Arena includes over 45 arenas to play in, over 55 maps for single player and multiplayer, 25+ player models, and a variety of fun game modes. There is also integrated IRC chat and a built-in server browser.

The game engine allows players to customize textures, models, particles, item placement, map objects, shaders, and more. Custom levels can be created using included level design tools. There is also integrated support for Quake II models and levels.

Alien Arena offers fun, classic-style first-person shooter gameplay that is highly customizable to suit different play styles and preferences. Its retro-futuristic style sets it apart with fast gameplay that harkens back to old-school arena shooters.
