What is Argentum Age (Series)?

Argentum Age is an epic fantasy series written by British author Alicia Wanstall-Burke. The series follows the adventures of teenagers Cleo and Lucian after they discover they possess extraordinary abilities. Cleo has the power to control water while Lucian can manipulate fire. At first, they try to hide their powers, worried they will be seen as freaks. However, they soon get caught up in a brewing conflict between two secret societies - the Argentum Guild who use their magic to protect mankind, and the Aven Cult, a sinister organization seeking power and domination over others.

Over the course of the series, Cleo and Lucian join forces with the Argentum Guild to stop the Aven Cult from unleashing evil forces into the world. As Cleo and Lucian develop their powers and learn to work together, their evolving abilities play key roles in advancing the plot and shaping major story events. Romance also blossoms between Cleo and Lucian even as friendships are tested by the growing dangers they must face.

The first book, Ignite the Shadows, chronicles Cleo and Lucian's discovery of their powers and their initial encounters with the rival societies. The stakes heighten in book two, Extinguish the Suns, as the Aven Cult becomes more daring. By the third book, Shatter the Skies, Cleo and Lucian help lead a climactic confrontation to try and defeat the Aven Cult once and for all. Each book overflows with fantastical action sequences as Cleo and Lucian attempt to understand the meaning behind their gifts in order to protect their world.
