What is Stranded (Series)?

Stranded is a young adult science fiction/adventure book series authored by Jeff Probst and Chris Tebbetts. The series follows a group of middle school students - Carter, Jane, Vanessa, Buzz, and Jory - who sign up to beta test a new experimental aircraft called the Specter. While flying over a remote jungle island, the aircraft malfunctions and crashes, stranding the kids with no way to contact the outside world.

The first book, Stranded, details their struggle to find food, water, and shelter on the island while also learning to work together as a team. Interpersonal conflicts arise as they debate how to survive and if/when they will be rescued. They slowly uncover mysterious elements about the island and aircraft crash that suggest sabotage was involved.

In the second installment, Trial By Fire, strange events on the island intensify. The kids start experiencing frightening visions that suggest supernatural forces are at play. Natural disasters like volcanic eruptions put their survival skills to the test. All while they continue investigating who sabotaged their aircraft and why. The series blends elements of survival fiction and mystery into an otherworldly adventure.
